Midsummer was a Barrayaran holiday celebrated at the time of the summer solstice. Fireworks were traditional on Midsummer Day, which happened on the evening after the Imperial Military Review, also called the Midsummer Review. The total time for the festival seemed to last about a week.
A traditional food served during Midsummer were lisettes, a kind of popover that is glazed and stuffed with candied fruits.
