- vid cubes - carried in hand or pocket; did not need a reader[7]
- holovid cubes - carried in hand or pocket; did not need a reader[8]
- pass cubes - carried in hand or pocket; provided proof of permission to go to a party[5]
- audionote filers - carried in hand or pocket; did not need a reader[9]
- holocubes - a general term encompassing all the various types of data cube
- scribble boards - carried in hand or pocket; used by quaddies during classroom teaching[10]
